Information that has been revealed in the end of chapter 4 are
Star Extra: Zapanta has newspapers to make him seem like a good person and Jose Angelico to look like the bad person in the picture
Inquirer: Zapanta would do anything to make him look good even hire orphans to smile and hold his name up, he didn't even pay them.
Daily Star: It was that Zapanta was a little suspicious for having 10 million dollars in his house but nobody asked. It also said that he could of been stealing from other people, Also he looks like he would shoot the writer and his family
University Voice: Students want change, they suggest that Zapanta is a corrupt and shouldn't remain in his throne of power and be re-elected, they think his is a greedy old man and its time for someone young and new to step up.
Obviously all of the news papers have different opinions but 3 of them are very similar in a way as they all have the anti feel against Zapanta. This was a easy way to reveal a chunk of the story as it is "why does he have 10 million dollars in his house" which heavily implies that he was stealing.

Is it ok to lie?
In the book trash Raphael, Gardo
and rat lie a lot in the book for survival. A example of this is when Raphael
was arrested by the police to see if they could get the information about Jose
Anglico’s murder that he knew, no matter what they did to Raph, Raphael
wouldn’t say the truth even when dangling out the window, Raphael also lied at
the very start when visitors came to visit the local mission school, they ask
if Raphael ever found anything good but he just say “sometimes sir! Sometimes
ma’am!” but in reality he doesn’t, He also lied when his aunty said to the
police that he had found something but he lied and said “I found a shoe sir”
when he actually did find what the police wanted.
Gardo lied to get Olivia to take
him to the prison to see Gabriel Olondriz so that he could find out about his
house by saying ‘my
grandfather’s in prison, ma’am, and i want to go and see him.’ Gardo also lied
when trying to act like a eight year old asking questions to help cover up what
Raphael’s aunty said. Rat lied by secretly hoarding a lot of money
keeping it a secret from everyone.

I believe what gave Raphael the strength is Jose Anglico's fighting spirit within him. It gave him the courage to lie to police no mater what happened. Anglico's Spirit gave Raphael the strength to lie although he wet himself and had a accident and dangling out a window, he still had the strength to lie to the corrupt police with their aggressive looks and threatening speech. Raphael knew that he had vital information that the police don't know so he couldn't afford to die but he took the risk and wound not give in.

Creating Suspence
One way that authors create
suspense is characters working against a deadline. An example from Trash is
when Raphael, Gardo and Rat try to solve the mystery of Jose Angelico’s death
before police officers can catch them, the entire book is based on this as it
is a continuous chase around the city to try to solve the mystery. The first clue they found was a bag at the
dumpsite which had a key inside it that looked like it was from the train
station but since they where poor the train station could have multiple guards
or anything else there to prevent any poor kids from getting through, the
second clue is the package at the train station that was going to be sent to a
prison to Gabriel Olondrez, Jose Angelico’s grandfather. The third clue was the
bible that Gabriel Olondrez had which they got by the Prison guard Marco it had
the ability to crack the code in the package they found in the locker.
Another example is Conflict this occurred when Raphael
was arrested by the police and taken to the police station. This is a type of suspense because you don't know in what ways Raphael was going to be hurt or if the police officer was going to let go of him when he was dangling out the window.
Another example that is going to
be talked about is using details to create the air of mystery is that in the background it said to be cloudy and all that and
you’ll hear things about a hurricane setting this weird feeling that you want
to know if the hurricane is going to hit or not encouraging you to keep going
and reading to see if you’ll ever find out.
The last example is the readers knowing more than the characters, for example in the book Rat knows that Father Julliard changes the password to the safe every month but writes it down in his diary because he can't remember, this is suspense because you don't know how Rat knows the password or what the password would be.
